human brainThis intimate "evening of stories" will celebrate personal experiences of spiritual/special/sacred moments in medicine. Four narratives will be shared, each from different perspectives, with time for discussion at the end of the evening.

"Cultivating the Spiritual Dimensions of Healthcare"

The target audience for this offering includes all interprofessional healthcare, students, clergy, and community members.

Dr. Pargament is professor of clinical psychology at Bowling Green State University. He received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Maryland and interned in clinical psychology at Rutgers Medical School.  His research focuses on the roles of religion in coping with trauma. Since fall of 2011 he has served as the Institute for Spirituality and Health Distinguished Scholar, giving lectures all across Houston and collaborating on multiple research projects with others in the TMC.

Sponsored by UTMB Health: Faith Community Nursing & Healthcare Committee in partnership with the Institute for Spirituality and Health at the Texas Medical Center, Houston. There is no charge for this continuing education event. Donations are requested to benefit St. Vincent’s House, a clinic offering indigent patient care services, in partnership with UTMB.
