Burnout has reached epidemic proportions, particularly in the health care professions. It affects everything from individual health and happiness to workplace safety and productivity. The good news is that individuals and organizations can prevent and address burnout effectively if they are willing to change the ways they view things and do things. Making these changes can transform us from feeling demoralized, dispirited and burned out to feeling inspired, motivated and engaged.

Warren Lee Holleman, Ph.D. is Professor of Behavioral Science and Director of the Faculty Health & Well-Being Program, University of Texas - MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas. The mission of the program is to reduce stress and burnout of cancer physicians and researchers. For Dr. Holleman's full bio, click here.
